Properties of Rescheduling Size Invariance for Dynamic Rescheduling-Based VLIW Cross-Generation Compatibility
نویسندگان
چکیده
The object-code compatibility problem in VLIW architectures stems from their statically scheduled nature. Dynamic rescheduling (DR) [1] is a technique to solve the compatibility problem in VLIWs. DR reschedules program code pages at rst-time page faults i.e., when the code pages are accessed for the rst time during execution. Treating a page of code as the unit of rescheduling makes it susceptible to hazard of changes in the page-size during the process of rescheduling. This paper proves that the changes in the page-size are only due to insertion and/or deletion of NOPs in the code. Further, it presents an ISA encoding called list encoding, which does not require explicit encoding of the NOPs in the code. A property of the encoding called rescheduling-size invariance (RSI) is presented and it is proved that the list encoding satis es this property.

متن کاملA New Hybrid Rescheduling Policy Based on Cumulative Delay
The present study considers a when-to-schedule policy in online production scheduling, which can be applicable to the timing of rescheduling under a dynamic environment with unforeseeable events. This paper extends our previous work and proposes a new hybrid policy for rescheduling introducing rescheduling driven by a cumulative delay and a forced rescheduling to maintain the quality of a curre...
متن کاملUsing Grid Related Cluster Schedule Resemblance for Energy Rescheduling - Goals and Concepts for Rescheduling of Clusters in Decentralized Energy Systems
Transforming the electric power system to incorporating a considerably increased share of renewable distributed generation implicates new challenges for the control of the system. To overcome the known shortcomings of centralized control, e.g. regarding scalability and robustness, a decentralized, self-organized system of agents for generators, loads and storages is widely discussed. We focus o...
متن کاملSmart load shedding and distributed generation resources rescheduling to improve distribution system restoration performance
After a permanent fault occurs if it is not possible to supply the load in the network, the optimal load restoration scheme allows the system to restoration the load with the lowest exit cost, the lowest load interruption, and in the shortest possible time. This article introduces a new design called Smart Load Shedding, abbreviated SLS. In the proposed SLS scheme, the types of devices in smart...
